In this section we will place requests from REPA members and others as well as announcements of importance to our membership. If you are looking for an EAL employee, relaying sickness status, seeking information of EAL history, announcing reunions and other general requests, this would be the page to post such messages. Please send your request to Jim Holder via the contact information on the Contact Us page of this website, and it will be posted.

For those REPA members who might have a spirit of support for the Georgia WW I Centennial Commission initiative to erect a statue at Robins, AFB honoring Eugene Bullard, please disseminate this information to all who might be in your communication network. We need all the assistance we can get to make this project a reality.

Eugene Bullard, a Native Son of Columbus, Ga. Who Became a French Combat Hero in WW I and the First African-American Fighter Pilot.

Eugene Bullard, became a Highly decorated French Foreign Legion and Lafayette Flying Corps pilot, who was shunned by the U.S FLYING CORPS, when the United States entered WW I, because of his Race. Received U.S. Air Force 2nd Lt.'s Commission 33 years after his death to stomach cancer as reparations for his being denied an opportunity to fly for America in WW I.
Black Americans were not allowed to fly for the United States until the early 1940's when the Tuskegee Airmen proved their quantification to fly. The Georgia WWI Centennial Commission wants to erect a Life-sized monument to Eugene Bullard, at Robbins AFB, for his incredible bravery, courage, and Determination to prove he was Good Enough. He did in the face of wrenching rejection by his native America. Please support this cause...   See attachment for expanded story of Eugene Bullard.

We need some 2016 REPArtee Magazines!!!!

Folks…

All the extra 2016 REPArtee magazines are gone, as sales of the extras were particularly heavy for this issue!

When we have a new member of REPA we give them some back issues of the magazine so they can catch up on what has been happening…

Most of our previous issues (2015 and prior) are also gone and that is OK, but having at least the current issue to send to a new member has always happened…

Sooooooo…. If you are coming to either the REPA Convention (commencing on September 6th) or the September 13th Atlanta REPA Luncheon and have finished reading your copy of the 2016 magazine then please consider bringing it to give to us…

Also for the same reason we would like any other recent REPArtee magazines that one might like to contribute…

If donated we will paste a sticker over your mailing address on the back so your privacy will be protected…

Good News! The Hartley Building Plaque is located!

Good News!!!

The James Hartley Building Memorial Plaque has been located!

Captain Fred Pollino very quickly responded to my message of last night that it is mounted on the wall at the New Eastern Offices in Building 5A on the 4th floor. The address is 4200 NE 36th Street, Miami, FL 33166…

Fred is the Manager of Flight Standards for the New Eastern and is one of the very early pilots hired there… He is an Army Veteran (flew helicopters) and recipient of the Purple Heart…

He also is an Affiliate Member of REPA and is one of the 296 folks on my EALinfo Email List…

Fred stated that he will send me a photograph of the plaque, which I will forward on to retired Eastern Captain J. P. Tristani, who was contacted by Captain Bob Wilbur’s son regarding the plaque…

Many will remember J. P. from our Eastern days… After which he took his considerable talents and thoughts to the Germans where he flew to age 65…

Also he is a frequent contributor on Fox News when a real expert on aviation is needed!

Hartley Building Plaque location???

Folks…

We understand that retired Eastern Captain Bob Wilbur’s son is writing a book about his dad...

He wishes to know where the plaque concerning that Boston Hijacking, which was in the Hartley Building (Miami), is now…

We have a vague memory that some news about it was on the internet (social media?) a few years ago…

Anyhow, if anyone has any idea where the plaque is now then please let us know…
